Q: My child has
a pretty big head, but I’m not sure if the adult
sized hat would be appropriate, which size should
I get?
A:
Since there is such a large range in head sizes, there
are even instances in which an adult would be best using
a child size cap. So we suggest you make your best judgment.
But do not worry- if you find the cap you have purchased
is either too small or too large, we will make the appropriate
substitution. But since all cap styles are size adjustable
you will find fitting is not difficult.

Q: My dad had
a stroke a few years back, and he definitely has the
problem, but he has a huge head. Is this really going
to be strong enough to support it ?
A:
The elastic bands were specifically engineered with
a certain percentage of linear stretch, and to have
a specific amount of power, or “rebound”.
We had gone through dozens of trials with elastics of
many different properties until we found the combination
that would be most effective when used for supporting
the human head. It does not matter whether it is being
used for an infant, or a 500-pound adult. This is because
the amount of tension or “force” applied
is adjustable by the caregiver, to the person’s
specific needs.
Q:
What is the expected
life cycle of a Heads Up system?
A: That
answer depends on the type of use it gets and how well
it is maintained. Under normal use, you should expect
to get at least 2 years of use. As long as the elastic
is not abused, meaning stretched to its limit just for
fun, it will maintain it’s stretch properties
for a long time. Sure, it will not be quite the same
after a year or two of use, but this will not decrease
its effectiveness. The hats are all washable, and they
are likely to be with you for years to come.
Q: Can
we use any baseball hat? My son has his favorite?
A: Our
baseball and floppy hats have all been specially modified
for use with the Heads Up system. We do not recommend
you attempt this with your son’s favorite hat.
Q: I
see you have the floppy hat style pictured with females
only. Would this be suitable for men and boys?
A: Of course, men
will typically call this style a “fisherman’s”
cap. And you can’t go wrong with either denim
or khaki.
Q: I
see the mesh cap version is suitable for all applications,
and we need it for bathing. But we really like the look
of the floppy hat. Can we buy just a separate floppy
hat?
A: Unfortunately we
are not set up for selling individual components. Each
system is packaged as a complete system. We cannot at
this point be breaking a whole unit. In case you did
not notice, we do offer a 10% discount off your entire
purchase if you buy any two items.
Q: Will
you be coming out with other colors?
A: It
is our intention, what colors do you suggest? Please
send us an email with your comments.
